Cisco Next Generation Converged Infrastructure

Ivari is a Canadian life insurance company in business for 80 years. In order to focus on its business, Ivari is in the process of transforming its IT to simplify infrastructure, following a long-term strategy to eventually utilize an IaaS platform. This led to a substantial data center rationalization, from 10,000 to 1,000 square feet.

Summary

Ivari began to change its approach to IT management and infrastructure by first adopting a Cisco-validated Flexpod architecture. The Cisco Next Generation Converged Infrastructure implementation project is part of Ivari’s virtualization strategy to increase the agility of its IT teams and simplify maintenance.

Ivari’s strategy is to streamline its data center to simplify the design and management of its business applications, so that its IT department can focus on creating value for the business, rather than managing the technology. Thanks to ESI’s deep understanding of the challenges of Ivari and its industry, the assessment provided took into consideration current needs while ensuring that the architecture would also allow Ivari to incorporate the changes in its future business landscape. The long-standing partnership with Cisco and Ivari has given ESI a comprehensive view of the customer challenges and requirements, enabling a value-added consultative approach.
